Overview

Welcome to the leading Swiss museum for design and visual communication. The museum welcomes you at two locations in Zurich – on Ausstellungsstrasse and in the Toni area.

 

The museum is occupying its second location, the Toni-Areal, in the dynamic, trendy district of Zurich-West. What used to be the largest yoghurt factory in Europe is also the campus of the Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK . With changing exhibitions, the museum builds a bridge between teaching and research, shows experimental projects and comments on current debates in design. The museum’s collection archive with over 500,000 objects is located in the Toni Areal. Take a look behind the scenes of this impressive collection on one of the guided tours! Together with the media and information center MIZyou will find an almost inexhaustible archive on Swiss and international design history. You can get inspirational everyday objects for your home in the museum shop.
